Tues., May 13th at 10 a.m. — Easing the Swell: Essential Insights for RPNs on Heart Failure

📢 Presenters: Katie Fleming, RN & Brittney Van Der Wal, RPN | Understanding heart failure is crucial for all nurses, regardless of specialty. Join this session to explore fluid retention, key symptoms, and practical management strategies. Gain essential knowledge to improve patient outcomes in any care setting.

Tues., May 10th at 2 p.m. – Showcasing RPN Leadership: CHEO's Clinical Informatics Champion Program

📢 Presenters: Alison Girouard, Laura Strachan & Megan Sloan | Learn how RPNs are driving innovation at CHEO through the Clinical Informatics Champion Program. This session will explore how integrating informatics improves patient care and efficiency while highlighting an RPN-led project aimed at improving NG tube checklist completion.

Wed., May 14th at 12 p.m. – Nursing Perspectives – Harm Reduction

📢 Presenters: Kaitlyn Craig, RPN, Sanguen Health Centre | Sanguen Health Centre provides vital harm reduction, healthcare, and outreach services to people who use substances and those experiencing homelessness in Waterloo Region as well as Guelph/Dufferin/Wellington. In this session, Harm Reduction Nurse Kaitlyn Craig, RPN, shares insights from the front lines, exploring the role of nurses in reducing stigma, supporting clients, and improving health outcomes through compassionate, evidence-based care.

Thurs. May 15th at – 10 a.m. Laughter Yoga: Transition from Stress to Joy

📢 Presenter: Cathy Nesbitt | Start your day with laughter! This session blends Laughter Yoga, Tapping, Brain Gym, and QiGong techniques to help you shift from stress to joy. Discover the health benefits of laughter, including increased oxygen flow and an instant mood boost.

Thurs. May 15th at – 2 p.m. Empowering Nurses Through Self-Care Writing

📢 Presenter: Lori Rosove | Take time for yourself in this therapeutic writing workshop designed to enhance emotional well-being. Using guided prompts and mindfulness techniques, this session offers a space for reflection and resilience-building. No writing experience needed!

Friday. May 16th at 2 p.m. – Nursing Now Awards Ceremony

Join us to celebrate all of Ontario’s nurses at the Nursing Now Ontario Awards. During this virtual ceremony, we will award three special nurses — in the categories of RPN, RN and NP — who have been nominated by their peers and the public.
